Holyrood
Who speaks for you at Holyrood?
Scotland elects one MSP for each of its 73 constituencies and seven more for each of its eight regions, so every postcode has eight. This page names yours, shows the Scottish Government posts and committee seats they hold and the cross-party groups they belong to, and gives their parliamentary email, all from the Scottish Parliament's own open data.
- Eight MSPs per postcode
- Ministers & committees
- Cross-party groups
- Parliamentary email
How this works
Neither the postcode lookup nor the Parliament’s API says which Holyrood constituency a postcode is in, so the page places the postcode’s coordinates inside the ONS Open Geography boundaries for the constituencies drawn for the May 2026 election. It then reads the Scottish Parliament’s open data service: the constituency and region lists, the members and their election status, party membership, Scottish Government roles, committee memberships, cross-party group memberships and email addresses. Each table is the whole record with start and end dates, so the page keeps only the rows in force today, and each is cached for a day. Motions, questions and votes are published as whole-history tables of tens of megabytes, so they are not read here; each member’s page on parliament.scot has them. Wales and Northern Ireland are pointed to the Senedd’s and the Northern Ireland Assembly’s own member finders.
