How this works

Live aircraft positions come from adsb.lol, an open-data community ADS-B receiver network, with the OpenSky Network as a fallback. We look 40 km around your postcode by default (the radius control goes out to 150 km) and refresh every 30 seconds. The radar plots every aircraft in that circle by bearing and distance from your postcode, with each arrow pointing the way it is heading; the list beneath shows the nearest twenty. Coverage depends on volunteer receivers, and some aircraft (low-flying, military, or without ADS-B) will not appear.
