Census
Who lives in your neighbourhood?
The 2021 census for the few streets around your postcode: how old people are, whether they own or rent, how they get to work, what they studied, how healthy they say they are and where they were born, each against the district and England and Wales.
- Around 1,500 people
- Nine topic summaries
- England and Wales
How this works
Every postcode sits in a Lower layer Super Output Area, a census neighbourhood of roughly 1,500 people drawn to be socially similar. The page looks yours up and reads nine of the ONS’s Census 2021 topic summaries for it from Nomis, alongside the same tables for your local authority and for England and Wales, so each figure has something to stand against. Percentages are of each table’s own base: all residents, households, residents aged 16 and over, or residents in work. Scotland (census 2022) and Northern Ireland publish their censuses separately and are linked from the page. Cached for a day.
