UK economy - the headline numbers
Loading indicators…
National figures for the UK, latest published period, from the ONS time-series data. The trend line shows roughly the last two years.
How this works
Every figure comes straight from the ONS time series. Each indicator is a national series - there is no regional or postcode breakdown here. We show the latest published period, the change on the same period a year earlier, and a trend line covering roughly the last two years. Inflation figures are annual rates (CPIH, CPI and RPI); the labour-market figures are the headline rates for people aged 16 and over; average weekly pay is total pay including bonuses; GDP growth is the quarter-on-quarter change in real terms, so its trend line covers eight quarters.
