Health & NHS

Your health picture, by postcode.

See how your area compares with the nation, discover nearby NHS services and explore the public data behind the numbers. In Scotland, that means life expectancy against the other councils and the week's A&E waits at your health board; in Northern Ireland, life expectancy and death rates against the other districts.

The health profile uses OHID’s Fingertips public-health data at upper-tier local-authority level - the county or unitary/borough your postcode sits in - at each indicator’s latest published period. Areas are ranked against all ~150 English authorities, with greener always meaning healthier.

Nearby services are sourced live from OpenStreetMap within 8 km. It’s community-maintained rather than an official NHS directory, so use it as a helpful guide and check details with the provider.

Scottish postcodes use the Scottish Government’s life expectancy and healthy life expectancy statistics on statistics.gov.scot (National Records of Scotland estimates, three-year pooled periods, ranked against all 32 councils) and Public Health Scotland’s weekly A&E activity and waiting times, matched to the health board that covers the postcode. Northern Irish postcodes use NISRA’s open data: life expectancy at birth, age-standardised all-cause and preventable death rates and emergency department attendances by council district, ranked against all eleven.
